The Paper Diamond sound has raw energy and the kind of dramatic anticipation only a seasoned producer can incite. Driving beats and bass grab on tight while deep, rich tones rumble under layers of spacey synthesizers, sweet melodies, and catchy vocals.

Alex B was trained in classical violin, but is best known as the bass player from Pnuma Trio.

As a solo performer he is exploring digital technology and pushing his sound further with layers of bass, hip-hop, down-tempo and jazz.

He uses intricate care and detail with each song he produces.

Paper Diamond's debut EP "Levitate" is on the record label Pretty Lights Music, founded by Pretty Lights aka Derek Vincent Smith.

The EP can be downloaded for free, along with tracks from five other PLM artists.

Alex B has also started his own company Elm & Oak, based out of Boulder, Colorado, which acts as a record label, clothing line, music blog and design firm.

Christian Bauhofer, the dubstep and glitch producer behind Minnesota, is one of Northern California's most up and coming producers.

He is very active in the scene and frequently dropping new bass-heavy tracks that can be heard in dubstep/glitch sets all over the world, including those from Bassnectar, MartyParty and MiMOSA.

“My goal is to make bass-heavy dubstep/glitch-hop music that'll get you dancing, but is not the same old, three-note transformer-step...I try to focus more on the melodic side of dubstep, and hopefully, make quality songwriting a more relevant factor in the genre,” Bauhofer says.

Minnesota's most recent remix of "California Dreamin" by the Mamas & the Papas has gotten more than 80,000 plays so far.
